To Kill a Mockingbird

I finished To Kill a Mockingbird. I really liked it, it was really sad to think how corrupt the world was especially the Southern part of the United States used to be. Basically, Tom gets convicted and Mr. Ewell jumps out of the woods at Jean Louise and Jem. Mr. Ewell has a kitchen knife and seems to be attempting to kill Jem and Jean, in the end Jem ends up killing Mr. Ewell on accident. The end is a very sad ending, but at the same time uplifting. The sad part is that Tom gets convicted and the uplifting part is when Jem kills Mr. Ewell on accident. I was really happy when Jem killed Mr. Ewell, but when Jem and Jean where attacked by him I thought they were for sure dead, but because Jem and Jean were on their way to the school play Jean had a costume. Her costume made it impossible for Bob Ewell to choke her, somehow Jem ended up driving the Knife into Mr. Ewell's chest killing him. I am glad, Mr. Ewell got what he deserved the death sentence. This is what happens to people when they are not put away the first time. When a person is convicted of firing a weapon within the city limits he should be taking off and sent of to a state penitentiary, if he is given a second chance he will almost most definetly committ another crime and cost the state more money.

To Kill a Mockingbird

This book is starting to get very good. Atticus has just been asked to represent Tom. Tom is accused of raping Bob Ewell's daughter. Atticus knows immediately that he will not win the case because Tom is black, and in those times a black man would always be guilty as charged, well in almost every case. That's just the way it was in those times. I respect Atticus, even though he knows he will not win he still says yes to representing Tom. It seems very obvious that Atticus has dignity. I think Atticus knows that he would not be able to live with himself if he didn't put up a good fight for Tom. Atticus knows that the Ewell family has no limitations, the Ewells are the law. The Ewells have no credit(trust) within the town of Maycomb. Everyone knows them and most do not like especially Mr. Ewell. It's crazy to think that a black man never had a fare trial during those times. Especially in Tom's case, it is obvious that Tom did not do the crime, everyone knows that in the back of their head. They choose to ignore it because he is black. I am excited to continue reading this book, I can feel the climax brewing.

To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird continues to be a great book. I am now reading the part of the book where Jean Louise and her brother meet Dill. Dill is related to the Finches family, during the summer time Dill is supposed to go live with his biological father but this summer he decides to run away to his aunts house in Maycomb, Alabama. Dill immediately makes friends with the Finches, the kids play games and what not. Although there is not a word to describe the game they play with the neighbor. There is the mystery about the neighbor.... Atticus knows what the game is all about, and when he see's them playing it he stops them. An important thing said in the section I read, the book said that Atticus is older than many of the other fathers in Maycomb, but although he is older he proves to his children that he can still hunt and do other things. Atticus shot a stray dog that threatened the people of Maycomb with a bite of rabbies. After he shot the dog the his kids had much more respect and seemed to like their dad more cause he was like one of the other dads in town. I continue to like this book, the dialogue is perfect. I cannot stand when a book is over descriptive, or when it has not enough description.

To Kill a Mockingbird

I started a new outside reading book, To Kill a Mockingbird instead of Black Hawk Down.
To Kill a Mockingbird takes place in Maycomb, Alabama. A quick overview on the main characters: Atticus is the main character he is the father of Jean Louise and her brother idk. By the way the book started I can tell it will be a great book. One of the things I really like in this book is the characters. I admire the main character Atticus or Mr. Finch. Atticus is an only parent raising two children in the great depression. Amongonst raising his children he is a lawyer. Atticus is not your average lawyer, he takes his job personally. I know from personal expierence that majority of lawyers don't take their job personally. Atticus takes his job personally, he seems to have morals and ethics. Atticus seems down to earth, hard working, and very conservative. It seems obvious to me that Atticus is a dedicated dad, considering his situation in life. While he takes he job personally he has to try to not to bring his job into the presence of his inocent children. Atticus is a well known but most importantly, well respected. Overall, so far I really like this book, I sure hope it continues to be great.

Black Hawk Down

I am done with Black Hawk Down, I am planning on getting a new book soon. After the second helicopter crashes it creates more craziness. With two helicopters down the military has to send reinforcements or relief in to rescue and transport the dead and wounded back to the camp. When the reinforcements get there, their is a big battle and the Americans win. The one thing I don't like about this book and especially the movie is that, they make it sound like the Americans won, but we really didn't win. Operation Irene was a failed mission. We pretty much got our butts whooped by the Somalian terrorists. I think that we should have stayed there and whooped their butts. I think that if we would of stayed there it would of also showed more strength in America, instead we wimped out and pulled out of Somalia with our tail between our legs. I think that if you start something you must finish it. You cannot just go into a country and liberate it and then leave, you have to have stability and rebuild the government. One thing that I seriously cannot believe is that Minnesota more so the Twin Cities has the largest population of Somalie's than anyother place in the world besides their own country. I think that its great we can help out Somalie refugees, but when they open the floodgates and let everyone slide into Minnesota it's not good at all.

Black Hawk Down

I am reading the book "Black Hawk Down." Black Hawk down takes place in Somalia, when the United States come on a mission of the name Irene. The mission is to kill or capture terrorists, the mission is supposed to be in and out but when a helicopter gets shot down everything changes. The soldiers have to quickly and safely get to the crash site, secure it, and wait for more troops to come and pick them up. Under heavy enemy fire from all directions of the crash site, they see another chopper get shot down. This creates even more kiosk. So far this book seems to be almost as good as the movie. I find it interesting to read about history and wars because most times history repeats itself. Wars are one of the most important aspects when looking at history, especially in the ancient times, there was no better way to solve a problem than with knives and arrows. This was an important book to write because people can't just look the other way when things like this happen. People need to be educated on whats happening in the world so they are aware whats going on so they can be prepared for it. I think its a terrible thing when the United States saw what those Somali people did to those American bodies after we left Somalia, seeing dead American corpse being dragged behind vehicles through the streets of Somalia. This is a great book so far.
